Boy Scouts of America is designed to prepare young men for the future. We
help them discover their interests and develop their potential to be the
best they can be. We do this through activities such as camping, hiking,
merit badge programs and high adventure.

The Greenwood Art Guild strives to encourage appreciation of the
fine arts in our community and to provide artists the
opportunity to learn and grow. Guild shows provide a means for
artists to display work to the public. Most meetings include a
demonstration by an excellent artist. The organization began in
February of 1997. The requirements for membership is interest in
visual fine arts and $10 dues per year.

The Greenwood Garden Club meets on the fourth Tuesday each month
with exception of July and August. Meetings are at a home of a
club member. The club has been a member of the Arkansas
Federation of Garden Clubs since 1950 and is affiliated with the
Greater Fort Smith Council of Garden Clubs. The club hosts
informative programs by expert guests and they participate in
the annual Spring Lawn and Garden Flower Show each year. They
are also involved in the Rose and Chrysanthemum Show in the
Summer and Fall.
The Greenwood Garden Club is also involved in community projects
such as the landscaping of the historical Vineyard Cabin and the
Town Square. Their annual fund-raiser and a long-standing
tradition in Greenwood is the Annual Spring Garden Tour and Tea.

The Greenwood Ministerial Alliance brings together the pastors of several
Christian churches in the Greenwood area. The Alliance allows for
communication between the churches which these pastors represent. During
the year the Alliance traditionally sponsors three services for the
Greenwood community and surrounding areas: at noon on Good Friday, at
sunrise on Easter Sunday, and on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving.

The mission of Extension Homemakers Clubs is to strengthen individuals and
families through continuing education, leadership development, and
community service. This mission is accomplished through regular club
meetings where members are exposed to the latest information on subjects
such as nutrition, financial management, family and child development,
health, energy, the environment, and much more. In addition to a monthly
club meeting, members organize and conduct special projects for
the children, senior citizens, and others in the community.

The Sebastian County Fair Association exists exclusively for the purpose of
instructing and educating the residents of Sebastian County in the areas of
home economics and agriculture by conducting, but not limited to, public
fairs and exhibits. The Sebastian County Fair is one of the events
sponsored by the Association for this purpose and is recognized by the
State of Arkansas as the official county fair for Sebastian County. This
accomplishment cannot be made without the involvement of volunteers and the
dedication of Association members whose mission is to influence the youth
of Sebastian County in the areas of home economics and agriculture,
therefore creating community development. The Sebastian County Fair
Association pledges its support in providing premium money, prizes, and
scholarships to the youth for this purpose. These funds shall be raised
through state and county contributions, public donations, and facility
generated profits. It is the aim and goal of the Association to return all
funds to the mission of the Sebastian County Fair Association.

Since its beginning in 1984, the South Sebastian County Youth Organization (S.S.C.Y.O.) has served thousands of youth. The 30-acre sports complex is located on Highway 71 South, one mile east of Greenwood, Arkansas. It includes nine ball fields and a gym/fine arts center.
The following sports programs are offered to youth members ages 5 to 18:
- Baseball - season begins around the first of May. T-ball for 5 and 6 yr. olds up to Junior Babe Ruth league.
- Softball - season runs concurrent with baseball. Coed 5 & 6 yr. old (coach pitch) up to over 16 year old girls. (ASA sanctioned 7 & 7 yr. olds and up.)
- Soccer - fall sport starting around September first. This is coed for 5 years old and up.
- Basketball - season begins about the first of December. Both boys and girls teams from kindergarten through high school.
- Cheerleading - runs during basketball season. This is also for the same grade levels as basketball.
- After School Program: Monday through Friday 3pm to 7pm.
Membership is available for all youth ages 5 through 18. The membership year begins in the summer with baseball and carries through the other sports. Call for membership fees.

Meetings are at 7 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of each Month at the VFW Hall in Greenwood.
Organized 1963, Incorporated 1970, Non-profit and tax exempt. Membership
is open to the public for $15.00 per year. The purpose of the
organizations is the preservations of the history of Sebastian County,
Arkansas and to publish the Key.

The South Sebastian County Humane Society is dedicated to the lost, the abandoned, and the abused animals in the community.
Programs include adoptions, return to owners, animal control, spay/neuter discounts, cruelty investigations, humane education in the
schools, 24 hour emergency service for injured or vicious animals, rabies prevention, nursing home visits, and wildlife rescue and
rehabilitation. Volunteers are always needed along with donations of dog and cat food, cat litter, medicine, towels, blankets, and
money.
