Parks and RecreationLocal Parks
Bell Park, located north of downtown on Main Street, is one of the area's finest park facilities. The large park offers two ball fields, playground areas, picnic facilities, volleyball court and horseshoe pits. Bell Park is famous for its natural beauty, offering a bird's-eye view of the town and valley surrounding Greenwood. There is not a more beautiful spot in Greenwood. Town Square has become the recognized symbol of Greenwood. This small
park area was once the site of the Sebastian County House, and the center
of all business activity. When a new court house was built, the community
turned the area into a green space. A clock tower, erected in 1976 stands
in the center. A bandstand is also located in the park. The Square has
become the sight for community-wide activities such as the
annual Freedom Fest celebration and Christmas parade.
