Local Parks

The Town Square has been renamed Greenwood Veterans Memorial Square.  Granite stones that are 12x12 are featured all around the walkways on the square and are personalized to honor or memorialize a veteran.  The stones can be purchased through the City of Greenwood.  The whole area of the square has been redone with antique lights and iron benches to make a pleasant memorial for visitors.

Greenwood Veterans Memorial Square has become the recognized symbol of Greenwood. This small park area was once the site of the Sebastian County House, and the center of all business activity. When a new court house was built, the community turned the area into a green space. A clock tower, erected in 1976 stands in the center. A bandstand is also located in the park. The Memorial has become the sight for community-wide activities such as the annual Freedom Fest celebration and Christmas parade.
