Lake Dardanelle is situated among the Ouachita Mountains just south of the Boston Mountain Range approximately 50 miles east of Greenwood. With 34,000 acres of open water, this lake offers plenty of boating and fishing opportunity for patrons. Camping, picnicking, and bicycling are among the other activities enjoyed by visitors.
Surrounded by Ozark National Forest and located just 35 miles north of Greenwood, Lake Fort Smith provides a unique setting and plenty of activities. For those hiking and camping enthusiasts the Ozark Highlands offers over 180 miles of trails. And for those just wishing to take advantage of the fishing, both fishing boats and canoes may be obtained at the visitors center. Other facilities include an Olympic-size pool, changing rooms, a bath house, and both water and electric hook-ups for campers.
Sitting approximately 1,350 ft. above sea level Mt. Nebo provides some of the best views the state of Arkansas has to offer. Situated among Lake Dardanelle, the Arkansas River, and several other ridges its easy to see why this park has become a favorite vacationing spot for many Arkansans.
The facilities that make up the park include cabins, with all-electric kitchens and air-conditioning, a wooded campground, modern bathhouse, picnic areas, a pavilion, visitors center, and even tennis courts.
Long known as one of Arkansas finest state parks Petit Jean has earned a reputation for being one of Arkansas most loved and visited vacation destinations. Situated between the Ozark and Ouachita Mountain ranges in west-central Arkansas. Petit Jean spans over 3,400 acres of the countryside, including an abundance of unmarred woods, ravines, streams, and springs. The park is also known for its spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Queen Wilhemina State Park earned its distinct name from the Queen Wilhemina Lodge sitting atop the highest point of elevation in the park and providing an inspiring view of the Ouachita Mountains. The lodge offer accommodations for up to 38 couples year-round, including 2 with fire places, and a private meeting room which accommodates 55 persons and is available upon request.
The park itself can accommodate a total of 40 campers and provides picnic areas not to mention a miniature railroad, miniature golf, and a petting zoo for both young and old alike.
